Rawalpindi Adiala high-security prison for having spent a first night of former Pakistani prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Mary. They got air-conditioner (AC), television, bed and fan in the allocated class of 'B' classes.
'B' class prisoners in Pakistan's jails get a little more privileges than other common prisoners. Nawaz and Mary did not have any exception. They have to spend AC and television in the car.
68-year-old Nawaz and 44-year-old Mariam Nawaz were arrested on Friday for buying luxury four flat in London through corruption. They returned to London from London on Friday on the head of the 10-year sentence declared by the court for corruption. The law enforcers arrested them immediately after returning to Lahore via Abu Dhabi in the UAE.
The former prime minister and her daughter were taken from Lahore to Islamabad by special aircraft. Later, extensive security arrangements were taken in separate vehicles from the police carriage in Adiala Jail.
However, some local media said that after the announcement of a sub-jail in a rest house in the capital Islamabad, Sharif could be shifted from Adiala jail.
According to the Pakistani media The News, prisoners in prison are determined according to the social status, education or life-style of the prisoners in the country. Considering this, the former Prime Minister and her daughter were given 'B' class facilities in prisons.
Naturally the 'A' or 'B' class prisoners are educated and they teach prisoners of the uneducated 'C' class in prison. They do not have to do hard work in prison. The punishment of the case is employed with the beneficial work as it is employed.
A lantern is arranged, if the 'A' and 'B' class carries a common utensil, a chair, a tea pot and no electricity connection. There is also a shelf, required washing room and toilet.
She will not be able to participate in the country's general elections on July 25, as the former prime minister convicted of corruption is disqualified from the country's Supreme Court election.
