One of the biggest problems of living responsibly is trash. We all create it.
Once we moved out to the middle of no where, things became a little trickier.
Our neighbor who worked at a scrap yard happily took our cans, but our glass was piling up! With a limited amount of storage in our tiny home, repurposing ALL the jars was impossible.
After calling around to several small towns, I finally found a recycling center!
So, we gathered up the four or five 52 pound dog food bags full of recycling goodness and headed down!
Now, we are a few years into this process. We don't go often...really we wait until it's too much for our patience, it's spilling out of all bags and we'll break our ankles if we walk too close.
Well, one of the many items on our list of "How much more crap do we need to do to leave?" was taking the recycling down!
We packed up the ol'trailer...bag after bag and off we went!
This was taken after some had been unloaded. Ya know that moment you realize you're sitting there waiting for your husband to handle things and you could be taking pictures!
Best trash handler this side of the Mississippi!
And then I offered to climb in to reach the orphaned cans in the back of the trailer.
The only downside of the whole experience was when I dripped rain water/inner can juice on my shorts. 😝
It was a huge relief to get this chore done and out of the way!
We are one step closer to hitting the road!
