Another day, another job done!
This is going rather quickly now. Each day seems to be another great step forward, and progress is happening! This was one of the last things to cross off the list before moving into our mobile home.
THE TANK - HOOKED UP AND READY TO BURN!
Preparing the site wasn't too difficult, since it was a mostly open area. The tank had to be at least ten feet away from buildings, so this spot was a good fit. With the bobcat from my neighbor and the trencher from , the trench went quickly.
This was a pretty cool thing to see. This 500 gallon propane tank can be lifted and maneuvered into position with this lift arm. It is controlled by remote, and worked just like it was designed to.
Seeing this giant tank in the air made me feel like a "big winner" on the claw machine at the local arcade. Also, I was glad that it wasn't already full, or it could potentially be one giant bomb.
Leveling the tank was a simple task too, especially with the lift arm to raise and lower it. Inside the mobile home, the propane will be used to heat water, cook food, and run the furnace when needed. I plan on mostly using wood as heat, but this will be a good backup, or a good cover if we leave during the winter. No one likes coming home to frozen or bursted pipes.
As always, I'm
