There comes a time in every life where we just eventually run out of steam. The steam level for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg looks to be ready to blow its proverbial top. An elderly lady of her form and stature should have maybe gave up her robe on the Supreme Court of the United States several years ago.
Her love of the law and her fervor for going against the grain may have been what has done the liberal progressive agenda in. As learned from previous news and media outlets, Mrs. Ginsburg was approached by democratic operatives to step down during the presidency of barack obama. She politely declined.
Although Ginsburg is widely seen among the left as an iconic figure, someone worthy of the nickname “Notorious RBG,” a feature film and CNN’s worshipful documentary, as recently as November she was criticized in the progressive Mother Jones for refusing to retire when a Democrat president could have safely replaced her:
[N]o amount of swag or hagiography can obscure the fact that, while Ginsburg is responsible for a great number of landmark legal decisions, her legacy may be sorely tarnished by one truly terrible one: refusing to retire when President Barack Obama could have named her replacement. That decision came into stark relief this month when Ginsburg fell and broke three ribs—and half of the nation took a collective gasp.
This will be a monumental win for the Trump administration when she eventually hangs up her robe. I would love to also see a couple more of the elderly justices retire while their is a pro-conservative senate in place. Clarence Thomas could possibly be next or maybe even the older Justice Breyer can be seen getting ready to head off into the sunset.
