The metabolic cycle is not 24 hours. Full metabolic circle for protein is 72 hours plus and additional days for elderly because their metabolism is significantly slower. Full metabolic circle of fat is 3-4 weeks in average. And for carbs it is within a few hours to a couple of days.
Time of the near full absorption through the gut wall for fat and protein is 6 hours and for carbs 3 hours. The whole process of digestion can last anywhere from 24 to 72 hours.
We can eat so much of carbs without feeling anything, because body needs and treats it as a fuel, that's a primary source. They are also treated differently, because we have insulin that takes care of it. But, if you try to eat as equal caloric value in roast ribs, you will see the big difference.
People on carnivore diet can eat big portions of meat, but that's because they need some other things so portion really matters. Conversion of protein is pretty much average while they use fat as a primary energy source.
Vegans on the other hand, have to mind protein intake more, because when we cancel the bricks our body starts to shed less important parts in favor of internal organs and brain regeneration.
Not all omnivore diets are equally user-friendly. If we are going to find a perfect fit, then it is the best to follow the examples of long living healthy populations. None of these successful groups are either carnivores or vegans. They also, by the rule, eat significantly less than average population.
I eat during or just before the most active period of my day. I don't eat much or at all after 4PM. I don't eat same amount of food every day, or at the same time.
