The total donated so far is 420 SBD, including a direct donation of 10 SBD from (thank you bud.)
There is not much justice in the world and there are so many people in need of help. There is no pretense that everyone can be helped, that money is the best form of help or that the amounts involved can properly redress whatever calamity or struggle is befalling a person. The aim of Giving Steem is simply to try to help in a small way, as many as possible who are genuinely in need.
I hope more Steemians will participate in Giving Steem or start their own initiatives to bring support and abundance to as many as possible. The fact that we can so easily, with no direct cost, give something of value to anyone on steem, anywhere in the world is a truly remarkable thing.
edit - thank you for all the comments of support, it means a great deal.
Happy Steeming
