Hurtigruten started its scheduled service more than a hundred years ago, in 1893. Since then, it has been the most important sea transport of passengers between Bergen and Kirkenes. Some freight can also be transported by the Hurtigruten. But today it is the passenger traffic that dominates.
Some of the Hurtigruten ships are specially built to travel to the Arctic and Antarctic polar regions, and other cruises.
In the pictures, we see "Fram" which is such a specially built boat that can sail outside the normal route traffic that is between Bergen and Kirkenes.
On the first image, you can see the glacier «Folgefonna».
The glacier is the smooth white area in the mountain, just above the ship on the picture.
In the pictures, we see that the spring is in the coming and the foliage on the trees is about to pop out.
Maybe "Fram" when it passes through Langenuen, is on its way from an Antarctic cruise?
