25 years ago, while an engineering student, I first heard noise concerning global warming. At that time it was a small noise. But even then it struggled. The world had been introduced to the "reality" of a 0.5deg F temperature rise and was put on notice to its devastating consequences.
One day a strange report came out identifying the culprit. Apparently, the thermometers used to measure all of this data hadn't been properly calibrated. When I heard that, it was like getting slapped across my face. I knew then that if the published science had done such a sham job at something as basic as calibrating the measurement equipment, then this wasn't science at all.
Fast forward to today and that small noise is now an ever growing global network of well organized misinformation.
Earlier this year I signed up for Republic, a sight for launching selective businesses it gets behind, including ICOs.
Today I received an email from Republic featuring a company called Nori. Here is how they were described:
Nori incentivizes people to help the environment.
With NORI token, people will be rewarded for removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
Here is the really stupid part they go on the explain:
Most carbon markets try to fight climate change by reducing CO2 pollution, but Nori wants to remove it altogether.
This has to be one of the most asinine business premises I've ever heard. If you think CO2 is causing global warming or climate change, then you owe it to yourself to watch this most incredible documentary that recently shared with me: The Great Global Warming Swindle
It's 1 hr and 15 minutes of one of the best scientific discussions on climate change I've watched or read...
