Hive account@gamer00 couldn't make it today. I hosted the club evening instead of him. By hosting I mean just turning up for the irregulars to have someone to play against in case they show up. If you want to keep a club alive it is of utmost important to keep the meetings regular.
Anyway, Antti, 1 dan, showed up. We played a couple of games. I lost the first one and won the second one. Antti was too tired to play a third one, so I gave him a ride home. The previous owner of our house had received a letter from the waterworks delivered to the old address. I used the opportunity to deliver it on the way home as they now live in the same general direction as Antti. Got some more useful tips concerning the house.
Here's the first game between Antti and myself. I was white in both games. Only a half point komi so this was a handica game.
That's my magnetic travel set. The board is made of metal and there are small magnets in the bottom of the stones.
It's looking better for white in my assessment at this juncture.

Black wins the ko and white doesn't even get much in compensation. It's looking bad for white. White, however, decides to engage in sorcery in the lower left.
A series of tesujis and some good luck white manages to live in seki with the group near the lower left side. But it is not enough and black eventually wins. Well done, Antti!
