10,000 HP
It has taken me awhile to get there. A lot of things have fallen into place these last couple of weeks. I had to sell some of the hive-Engine Tokens I was holding, but the whole reason for the tokens was for needs, wants, and desires.
I did not have to sell any, I could have just continued along the path I was following and I am pretty sure by the end of the year I would have met my goal.
I did not need to sell tokens from Hive-Engine holdings, I did not need to withdraw the swap.hive from Leo-dex. It was purely a want to and a desire to reach 10,000 HP.
There have been a lot of people that have helped me over the years, both on Steem and on HIVE Block Chain. I started on August 1st, 2017 because I wanted to read free stories.
Since that beginning I have learned a little bit about crypto and about block chain technology, Both centralized and decentralized. I have also learned about greed from some people over on Steem block Chain.
Where I trusted a person and I loaned them some of my hard come by steem, only to have the person that the loan was for default on the loan, (took the money and ran), and then to have the person I loaned the money to, the individual that guaranteed the loan show his complete and utter lack of integrity and also defaulted on his so called guarantee. Lesson was learned.
I never loaned that person any more funds, I never supported that person any more, that was the lesson learned, don't support the people with zero integrity. I still loan funds, and delegate funds and even just plain assed give funds away. Know who you are supporting, if you can manual vote on people you trust.
There have been a lot of ups and downs on Hive, and I still like Hive, and will be around hive block chain for a long time to come.
For the New User a few of my thoughts
For the new users that are reading the post, don't give up. Yes there are idiots everywhere, yes there are people that will take advantage of you everywhere, Yep there are a lot of unwritten rules on Hive Block chain. Not everything is carved in stone when it comes to communities, give it time and like any community anywhere in the world you will learn the unwritten rules and customs of The Hive Community.
Hive has come a long long way since the split from steem chain, and the community culture is ever changing as more join and as new ideas and thoughts are prompted.
Find a couple of communities that represent what you like and enjoy. As i mentioned I came to Steem for the free stories to read. There are a lot of very good writers on Hive. It has been awhile for me reading, but reading and commenting on stories was where I got my start on Steem/Hive. It is where I began.
Today I have a lot of people I follow, and I have a lot of PeakD self created list of people and content to fit my mood of the day. There are a lot of front ends to access the Hive Block Chain, all of them with their advantages. PeakD suits my Hive surfing, commenting, and posting style, so search, find, and support your favorite but don't necessarily ignore the other front ends.
In the beginning you are going to be pretty limited on what you can do, so make that starting point as valuable as you can for your future. Never plagiarize, that is one community standard that the vast majority of us on Hive simply will not tolerate.
Four and a half years with a lot of powering up, and a lot of help from friends you too may be making a I'm at 10,000 HP post and passing on a word or two to new users.
Tomorrow is Hive Power Up day. I hope to get back on track and get the little bee, and I hope I have made all the 1 hive power ups for the month to get my first Hive Power Up Month Badge, one more day to go and see.
I hope everyone found that cyber Monday deal they were waiting on and that Black Friday was as valuable to you as it was to me.
