Typical annoying Hallmark card statement - I believe setting goals for yourself is important.
(^my current goal)
I really didn't want to start out the article that way but it was fitting. God, I've heard that phrase all too many times; usually it comes from the mouth of a pretentious d-bag who's never really had to set goals or deal with the consequences of not meeting said goals.
So, here I provide you with another rant: this one relative to my personal goals here on Steemit.
This rant was prompted by the frustration that I know does not solely haunt myself; voting power. Anybody with under 1M VESTS(currently ~489.204 SP) must surely feel as lost as I do without that all-powerful slider.

After a spell of not being able to access the computer much, my voting power had finally recovered upwards of 100%. After one night of exploring the site, and being what I thought was conservative with my votes, aside from the use of Steemfollower, I suddenly realized I had dropped down to 40%.
I find people's content valuable. Especially minnows, like myself, when I see a good post with under $0.10, I feel the need to contribute my small vote towards them, to show my appreciation for their content and efforts; and also, knowing that a lot of these well-crafted posts will remain with that low reward and these small votes really do matter for all of us minnows!
Now, I'm not complaining; just venting as a means to bring me to my point: It seems that a huge milestone for most new members is 1000 SP. Obviously, that is an amazing goal, but for me, my goal lies on that damn vote slider. In my opinion, it is a vital(possibly the vital) tool in increasing productivity and contribution to the platform.
So what are your goals?
I don't really have any reasoning for writing this post; again, I just wanted to vent about my frustration and saw this as an opportunity to do so. But I really am curious:
Do you have any goals here on Steemit? It's somewhat of a stupid question for some, but I think we all are attracted to the financial opportunity the site offers, especially as we see it grow.
Like I said, I think it's important to set goals for ourselves. I work seasonally, and return to 50+ hour weeks at the beginning of April. My goal is to obtain the slider by the time I return to work.
It is definitely an aggressive goal, but I figured why not set my aim high. Plus, I think I should utilize my time here while I have more free time available. It's aggressive, yes, but I think achievable.
So let's hear it! I hope some of you guys have set some goals here. Who knows, depending on where this platform goes, we might not have to go to work one day, and we'll be able to travel and all hang out in the real world! Cheers!
