Hi,
How much gold was looted by the British, French and the Dutch from India during 1600-1950 ? I am trying to put the pieces together to understand this fact. This might help us in understanding of how London became is super power above the rest of Europe from this time till date. The story of Indian gold is very old, even ancient.
Gold has been mentioned in ancient India texts and stories and we have visuals of gods and goddess wearing gold in our mythology. I fail to understand of why India does not have any Gold or Silver mines in the present day ? Either the Indian stories were brought by the people from North and West, or the mines are hidden/obsolete now. Modern day Srilanka was ones build with gold according to Indian Mythology, but no mines there too.
I want to spend some time to discover the truth on this topic.
