This was one of my favorite sunset photos I took when I was in the Lake Lure area of North Carolina a half dozen years ago (24 June 2012). I was having a good time, staying on vacation with my family and my extended family in a place I'd never been before, enjoying the beautiful country and relaxing from the day-to-day grind that was my work life then. I was enjoying the more focused time with my family. I didn't know it then but three weeks hence would begin one of the worst times of my life. Even that worst time that hadn't yet happened is at least now partly only a memory. Funny, life and memories.
I was standing on a balcony in a rental cabin located on a hill overlooking a smaller lake, just past the trees in the foreground, and it was raining heavily. What was not to enjoy about such a beautiful scene. It's always worth enjoying life now, today, this hour. Whether it is a sunset or any other aspect you might be experiencing.
Memories are more plentiful than photographs. Make them good ones if you can.
