The Pantanal is the world's largest tropical wetlands area and is located on the border of Paraguay, Bolivia, and Brazil.
While the Brazilian Pantanal receives some visitors, the part of the Pantanal located in Paraguay is one of the few gems left in the world that are rarely ever visited by tourists. When I volunteered at a biological station in the Pantanal, we did a three-day kayak trip up the Rio Negro. On day two we arrived at Fortin Patria which is where I captured this beautiful sunset.
