Living where I do, there aren't very many options to see a diverse amount of wildlife. The main options in the areas around me come down to the same few animals, a lot of Herons, Ducks (Mallards, Mandarin ducks), Geese etc.
A small drive away from me, however, is a deer park with a public footpath next to it that anyone can walk down and see more species of deer than you could dream of. Anything from Chinese water deer, Roe deer and Red deer alongside a few others.
Coming down to this park when I feel as though I need a change of pace is really refreshing and gives me the opportunity to switch up my photography style and really appreciate some magnificent animals in a space where they're not frightened of humans, yet the need to respect each other's space is essential.
I was really focused on getting lower down to the ground and aiming for this kind of angle to try and get the Deer's head popping out from the top of the grass. With the Chinese Water Deer, I think this looks really cool.
All of these photos were taken later on in the evening and with my trusty Canon 1D MK iv with a 150-600mm Tamron 5-6.3 lens.
