Sunsets never cease to captivate and surprise me on almost a daily occurrence. Why do I say almost a daily occurrence? This is because somedays I am just “too busy” and basically forget that the fleeting colours of the day are coming to an end once again. Somedays you look up and its already dark, which is a missed opportunity and other times you just look up and your heart can at times skip a beat in the pure ecstasy of colours you never knew the sky could display.
I just finished driving an orca tour out of Victoria, BC in Canada when the sky simply blasted the inner harbour of Victoria with some incredibly intense colours that I find myself today shaking my head in a kind of disbelief. As I rounded the last maker before getting to my dock to secure the vessel and call it a day, I looked up and saw a huge Blue Heron sitting on top of that very marker almost watching the sunset itself - chances are it was simply looking for food but you can believe what you want.
It is worth taking the time to be in such moments
