A few years ago I was lucky enough to be contracted to help lead an expedition to Norway for their orca season, which is actually in their winter. So, it can be cold & a bit of sun only for a couple of hours a day - it isn't for everyone. However, you are blessed with amazing sunsets on the ocean and at times even the northern lights come out from time to time.
The reason we are there though despite the cold climate is to encounter Orca and any other marine mammals that we may encounter along the way. It was one heck of a great experience and for anyone who wants to swim with the apex predator of the oceans, AKA Orca or Killer Whales then I can not recommend checking this company out who have specialized for years with in-water interactions.
