I'd definitely keep my eye out for the new game especially if there is an access from hive and if the conquest mode gets some love in it as I find it really nice skeleton for something great. How long do you think the game would take to bring to life? What comes to your question about golem distribution. Maybe they could be built from scavenged materials. Different architypes would take different materials to build and once you gather or trade enough for one, it would work pretty much like crates work now giving rng end result.
