To increase the value of a game, you need to (suddenly) increase its value. But you insist on discussing economics.
If you subtract the revenue pyramid and the promise of profits from selling anything, what's left? Will the gameplay be engaging enough if you completely eliminate money?
Answer this question honestly (and most importantly, honestly to yourself).
If we're talking about a game, gameplay is 99% of success.
If it exists, you can sell colorful skins for golems that won't affect the gameplay; people will emphasize their individuality and play for fun.
This is a well-trodden path, but gameplay is not discussed at all.
It's about economics again.
