Since Google got such a powerposition the EU already punished the aplhabet company.
Today the EU has a council and deciding if and how much the penalty should be.
Tomorrow the decision will be published.
What are the reason for the EU?
Google may have pressured other smartphone companies to preinstall their apps like the Chrome browser to get access to the google PlayStore.
Also there might be a "Anti-Fragmentation Agreement" from Google that doesnt allow other manufacturer to publish Android Forks without the PLayStore.
Google uses this to improve their dominance in the internet sector.
The statement of the search engine:
There is no offical statement yet, but they already declined the accusation. Altough there is an agreement with the manufacturer to pre install the browser, but they get a part of the income, which shoould be legit. But they are free to install a second browser aswell.
Other people says that is time to open the Android market for other competitors than google, which is very true, while thinking ot all the data that google has.
Some say that the EU is to strict with these penalties, but in my opinion thats not enough...
