The Holy Spirit is not just an influence, one that gives the chills, or the being that grants the ability to speak in tongues. Yes, in tongues! The Spirit is so much more.
There is a description of Him that is pertinent in this month, because He is the only key to understanding the scriptures.
Jesus speaking to His disciples from John 16:12-13 says "I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come." Jesus clearly had so much to tell His disciples but realised that they could not receive those Words but He tells them that when the Spirit of Truth comes, He will gently but authoritatively unveil the meaning and relevance of the Word to them.
The Spirit is the author of God's Word and He alone is able to bring us the understanding of the scriptures and empower us to walk in the light of those revealed Truths. But for that to happen we must recognise Him as a person and nurture a relationship with Him. If any relationship is worth keeping, it is our personal walk with the Holy Spirit. The more we walk away with Him the better our vision would be. The better our vision, the more successes we will experience in our faith-walk.
