The government is allegedly looking for ways to make a few cuts to their military budget, which is part of the reason that there is currently an audit of the Pentagon underway that’s alleged to be the first of its kind.
According to results from an audit by Ernst & Young, it’s been suggested that the Defense Logistics Agency, one of the Pentagon’s agencies, can’t account for hundreds of millions of dollars. So far it's about $800 million that they can't account for.
They also suggested that the agency has no way to reliably track expenses and say that they provide little evidence as to where that money is truly ending up.
Now, it’s alleged that there is something around 1,200 agents who are working on the Pentagon audit.
The Defense Logistics Agency has already admitted to the obvious shortcomings that the results indicated, and they insist that they’re going to get better at dealing with money. The overall goal is allegedly that the government wants to save billions of dollars in unnecessary spending, despite repeatedly demonstrating how bad they are at managing funds.
How about...
If the intention is to identify unnecessary spending, areas where there can be cuts, then it’s time to adjust the foreign policy to one that isn’t akin to breaking into your neighbors home and murdering him and his family in the night, because you’re afraid that one day he might potentially pose a threat to you.
Time for lawmakers to dial back the crazy, close all a few bases, and opt to refrain from furthering never-ending military endeavors in the future. They might just find that they spend a lot less money that way.
Overall, the audit is going to be looking at 24 different programs and many are expecting that the news coming from the investigation is going to get much worse.
Is it truly about making the best use of taxpayer funds? Because it seems that if they were truly interested in trying to save money then they’d re-think their policing the world tactics and make an honest effort to cut back. They want us to believe that they are concerned about saving pennies wherever they can and yet they continue to spend hundreds of millions of dollars every single day on active military endeavors around the world.
