With many Americans still struggling to get by, I find it hard to stomach the amount of money the United States gives away to foreign countries. This money should be spent on our own crumbling out dated infrastructure. Dams that are nolonger safe like the Oroville dam in California. Power grid that has brown and blackouts. Updated Irrigation system for farmers in the midwest in times of draught. Heck give every home owner free solar panels. Or heres an idea..... LOWER TAXES!!! Stop giving our money away. This government has acted like we are there for them. No our government is suppose to be there for us. We fund the damn thing.
Given the many agencies, funding methods, and categories of aid associated with U.S. foreign assistance efforts, estimates can differ. According to the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service (CRS), which uses the broadest definition of aid [PDF], including military and security assistance, total spending was nearly $49 billion in 2015.
