The movie The Found is about the start of the massive Mcdonalds corporation. An example of an aspect of entrepreneurship in this movie could be what the founders call “the speedy system”. This speedy system is an innovation in how fast-food restaurants would be able to deliver food. We are first introduced to this system when Ray Kroc visits the first Mcdonalds and meets the founders. Mac and Dick Mcdonald then invite Ray to have a tour around their establishment after Ray sees the efficiency when he orders a burger. The traditional fast-food restaurant at the time was highly inefficient and was riddled with problems such as unwanted guests hanging around, slow service, and poor quality control in terms of getting the customer's order corrects. All these problems lead to Mac and Dick creating their speedy system. What the speedy system fixed was creating a production line within the kitchen starting from the grill and right behind the grill is where they prep the buns putting a specific amount of sauces and pickles on each, the buns and cooked patty's then meet next to the grill where the burgers are assembled, they are then wrapped up and put onto a serving plate waiting to be ordered. They were able to do this since the only thing on the menu was burgers and fries. Mac and Dick saw that these where +80% of their total revenue. This also further simplified the process. This is an aspect of entrepreneurship since it is taking an old invention, the fast-food industry, and innovating to provide a higher value for the consumers. This is interesting since we can see how this innovation has changed the world. In every single fast-food restaurant, they use the speedy system. Since 1955 the fast food industry has been unable to innovate beyond what they created back then. This aspect of entrepreneurship affected society in two ways. The first reason is through time spent at the restaurant. It is argued that time is the most valuable asset for a person and having the food ready before the customer even orders save them a lot of time. Society supported this aspect indirectly. They supported it by purchasing the burgers and fries over the competition, sonic and other fast food places. Another way was creating one of the biggest franchises in the world. To this day Mcdonalds holds a majority of the market share within the fast food industry as well as having 38000 stores worldwide 67 years later. This is due to their constant innovation and providing continuous value for their consumers. The interaction between this aspect of entrepreneurship, innovation, and society is minuscule. This is due to the consumer only interacting with the end product of this aspect. However, this does mean that the tickle effect applies here. This is due to the fact that since McDonalds save their consumers so much time, they are able to use their opportunity cost to their advantage. This creates extra free time that they wouldn’t have had if they had chosen another fast food restaurant.
