The movie Fountainhead is about a man who starts off with a rocky architect career, however, he does eventually work his way up in the business corporations and ends up accomplishing his desired goals. Howard Roark had a passion for the designs of buildings he drew in his head but the professors at his architecture school did not agree with his design style, and since he was so adamant, he was then expelled from the school. But this was an obstacle he was certain he could overcome. He takes this opportunity to apply for a job as an apprentice at one of the well known architecture firm and he was soon accepted for the job. As he gains respect throughout the company over the years, Howard finally applied his own sense of knowledge and got some land contracts. The cash flow for his business was sadly not enough to keep it stable. After a bit of time of struggling and trying to figure things out for his future, Howard is called back to New York to help design and build an apartment complex. He thought that this new opportunity was an easy and good way for him to back into the architectural industry but it in fact did the opposite. Once he took the apartment job, it really triggered his peers causing them to criticize his decisions which then ruined more job opportunities for him in his future career. Again, after a few more years of struggling with his career, Howard finds himself with another apartment complex opportunity and decides to take on the challenge. This time, he does end up working his way back up in the business and decides he will only design the apartment for the college if there is no compromise. This was risky of him to do because changes were made to his designs which resulted Howard completely destroying his own work. He then was sent to trial but was found not guilty as it was his own design and a compromise was made clear that he could do what ever he wanted to do to the apartment complex. Howard Roark's peers see his designs as a true waste of time and personal effort because they don't have any structure that past significant buildings have had. The public was simply not ready for his designs or the change that was happening in architectural design right in front of their eyes. Thankfully Howard was a confident and determined man so he did not give up on his work. When his passion became apparent again the public started to notice and and appreciate the new unique styles he was trying to introduce. Coming from a person who personally doesn't deal well with change in much anything, sometimes people or society don't know they need something new and different until they have it. Sometimes it really is hard to accept that the world is always evolving and changing but it is also comforting to know that the only thing that will not change is the fact that things never stop changing.
