They Say it Can't be Done
While watching this movie I realized that entrepreneurs are often held back from their full potential. Even though this movie was on the slower side I still thought it was interesting. They are using chemistry to make meat that looks and tastes like meat. But it is not meat, they are finding a way to still produce meat but not killing animals for it. They are growing it in a lab which is really cool. The guys faced a lot of backlashes because the main meat producers were getting worked up because this meat the guys are producing, they claimed is not actual meat because it was grown in a lab. And they wanted it labeled as so, which a few states did. They also produced working organs in that lab for people that need them so they do not wait on the organ waitlist, which could take months if not years to get the organ they need. In this movie as well they were talking about lowering the CO2 percentages in the atmosphere and all the work that is needed to try to fix it.
During this documentary I realized that entrepreneurs are often looked down on because they are bringing new product to the market, even if it is better then what is already out to the public not a lot of people like change. Even of its super beneficial not just to the business men but also to the public. Especially with our advancements in technology it benefits us in the long wrong. It helps us break down plastic, provide healthier food to the public. A few of the guys in this documentary were talking about exploring the ocean which I think is a great idea, because so much of the ocean hasn’t been explored. Who knows what could be down there.
I think a lot of entrepreneurs get looked down on a lot. Even if it is for a good cause, such as creating new ways of being. Like trying to create new medicine or better ethically sourced food. The one I found the most interesting was the aquaculture one. I love the ocean and it is so mysterious and just so much is unknown about it. I loved how they created a reef for the kelp to grow on but made it as natural as they could. So, no fish, whales, or dolphins would get tangled in it. They also want to clean the ocean which is amazing because when aquaculture first started people were putting things into water that they shouldn’t. The 3-D printed organs had to undergo numerous Food and Drug Administration laws but they don’t have actual laws out in these things yet. While unfortunately the technology remains untested and unapproved for the general public. Overall, this movie was not one of my favorites but you get a lot of information out if it. I learned quite a bit, one of my favorite parts was when they were talking about the aquaculture.
