Should graffiti be considered art?
What’s your definition of art? Do we consider why; something is art or not art, is graffiti a way of expressing something or is it just labels, stylized writing. The only graffiti piece that’s been notice in the art world is considered Banksy spray painted art pieces, is graffiti just an act of vandalism spray painting on walls and destroying others and your own private property. George.C. stowers wrote “based on aesthetics” graffiti has to be considered an art form. However he makes a distinction between simple labels and more complicated pieces, stating that tags have little aesthetic appeal and probably should not be considered art but calling something “ugly” is your own opinion of something you think about an art piece, however large pieces of graffiti require planning and imagination contain artistic components like color and composition, like “wildstyle and calligraphic writing style of interlocking letters typical of graffiti. During the ancient times the first forms of scripture and storytelling by the natives and cavemen were through drawings on walls, without graffiti there would be no such things as story telling even art because the cave drawings by caveman were the first forms of art, a way of giving expression to something without language, graffiti gives your city it's own urban and unique original flair. Graffiti is a way of expressing something, that's what art is the way of expressing something through your originality doesn't mean it's considered art,through your own opinion ,so Even though it can be a crime it is a way of express something to our very minds and that's something we don't really how much negativity has gone to this type of art form we forget what it is, why isn't it considered art, can stylized writing, and just tags be a way of self expression through your own creative ideas.
Graffiti is art because, graffiti is a way of expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture everybody has there own opinion of what art is even if it's just buckets of paint on a wall, we should consider it art because art is appealing to the eye it gives inspiration. It has a negative outlook because it looks so random it looks like something, with no meaning through other people's opinion, mostly to elderly people.
Why isn't it considered art because people see graffiti as something that only thugs, gangsters , common criminals who want to vandalise private property walls and not something a regular artist wouldn't do, like most artist express their art through painting on canvas.But graffiti artist paint on walls making a very unique way of doing art. Very difficult because there can be no mistake when being drawn because it can't be erased.graffiti has been manipulated by lots of people,making it so negative to the art world and to the creators of this style of art.
Most common types of graffiti is made up of tags, stylized writing, but not all of them are made of tags and stylized writing.But it doesn't mean, it's not a way of expression through art form. Even if graffiti is unreadable, it should give the person looking at it an image making them visualize towards the message the artist trying to express.The sad thing about living in these society, people are scared of thinking differently, so if one person hates this type of art form it creates a negative outlook to the art.creating something new, different, is a work of beauty likeall graffiti is different making it beautiful in its own way.Is graffiti a way expressing something or is it just.
ve anymore in the art world, most people tend to copy from other people, this is not a way of self expression through imagination, taking the word self expression out of the category of art. Graffiti is always different, takes lots of imagination, error to master, lots of graffiti is made for shirts we use today with amazing different styles of writing. Without graffiti there wouldn't be the hip hop culture we see today along with mc-ing, bboying, and dj-ing. Graffiti is art because it creates new things.
