Hello Steemians!
This season is appropriate to graft a tree.
Techniques are several, I'm going to show you one of them.
I'm going to show you how my uncle and I, grafted an olive tree a few years ago.
First of all we cut a piece of stem from the tree that we want to graft (for example a good variety of olive tree) and peel it down, in such a way that it can be applied to the new olive tree trunk.
The olive trees can be from a wild olive tree.
We cut the olive tree trunk completely.
On two opposite sides we make two slots and open the cortex to apply the stem pieces which we want to graft.
We peg them in order to apply well, then we wrap a ribbon around the trunk , on the upper part of the trunk we salve with special material or put soil and cover it with a cloth.
Lastly, if we want, place a bridged stem, birds sit there and not on the stems that can destroy them.
After a few months if the stems have joined with the trunk, stems will germinate and after a few years will have became a tree.
A secret: when the trunk is from the wild tree, then the tree will be more durable and can live fore more years.
