Incorporating GridCoin Non-Profit Foundation |
After a split opinions in regards to official GridCoin steemit account, and the problem of GRC Wallet growing out of scope where it's smart to be controlled by a single person as discussed here, This post aims to collect interested parities in forming a fully legally incorporated, non-for-profit GridCoin Foundation.
To address the issue of centralization, it is very important to understand that this organization is not going to represent the whole community nor be the "Official Gridcoin" represent. It will represent those who decide to be represented, as well as projects of owners who decide so.
Therefore, this is NOT the official GridCoin Community Foundation Initiative, rather the foundation of these who chose to be part of it.
Starting goals of the foundation is to:
- Protect the interest of GridCoin related projects of Developers who decide to join and delegate such powers to a foundation.
- Provide policies and regulations of joined projects with the best interest of GRC.
- Support and regulate marketing Initiatives.
- Make sure that any revenue generated through joined projects is distributed to support the infrastructural needs.
Further tasks are to be discussed once enough people shows interest so the decision making board could be formed.

If you are against this initiative, you don't need to do anything. Just like you don't need to support 'Open Source foundation' in order to release 'open source' software, 'GridCoin Foundation' is not going to officially represent GridCoin, except for these projects whose developers decide to be represented. The decision board is only going to make decisions about these projects and it's not going to act as official representative for anything else.

- You can read here but in short, the amount of users is growing, as well as their funds, so it requires policies in place as well as more then single person to operate such projects.
