"Surely the Nasdaq would consider the idea of becoming a cryptic exchange over time", said Adena Friedman, CEO of Nasdaq.
A key step for Nasdaq and other institutional investors is regulation, that must be established before the company adds an exchange.
"I believe digital currencies will continue to persist it's just a question of how long it
will take for the space to mature", said Friedman.
