A while back suggested I check out a guitar lesson by a guy called Charlie Wallace. He posts a lot to Youtube and he runs an online school called Guitar Mastery Method. It wasn't too expensive, so I signed up. I thought it could some structure to my learning.
Anyway, he's running an extra course at the moment on soloing. Each day he shows you part of a solo he's created based on some top players and encourages you to post a video of your playing in a Facebook group. This is my attempt at the parts from the first two days.
I haven't got too far with the main course yet due to lack of time. It starts by taking you through basic techniques. That can be good as I've picked up on a couple of things I hadn't thought about. Later it gets onto building speed, theory and other areas.
The course was good value considering it's a one-off payment. I've done others that require you to keep paying to have access. What did bug me was the hard-sell he does. As you sign up for the first course he really tries hard to get you to buy some more. The prices are okay and there is a money back offer, but I just wanted to try the one course for now and might not get to the others before I could get my money back. I suspect I'll get offered other deals. He's obviously been to 'marketing school', but it's a bit full-on for my tastes. He needs to get onto Steemit and then money will be less of an issue for him. It looks like he's doing well as thousands have registered for the soloing course and many of those have probably bought something from him.
Here's his introduction to the free course.
I've got some other stuff I need to be working on for a performance on Friday, but this is a nice distraction.
Rock on!
I'll buy guitar picks for Steem Dollars
