I listen to a lot of podcasts, but one of my favourites was Six String Bliss. It was a show about guitars made by a couple of enthusiasts who I could really relate to. They are not experts on the topic, but they would have fun discussions of the sort you have down the pub, e.g. name the top five guitarists of all time. They got some cool interviews with top players and reviewed what gear they could get their hands on. The last proper show was in late 2013 as they just weren't finding time for it, but they had a good run of 272 episodes.
I don't think they will mind me borrowing the logo.
Now, after three and a half years, the show is back! They were teasing us on social media that it would be back in May and they just made it. Pipes and PT are back and sounding pretty much the same as before.
What really made the show great was a the community that grew up around it. This was mainly on the forum, but people have not come back there yet. Maybe Facebook has replaced forums. I'll have to see if I can tempt them to Steemit once we have communities here. One of the, , is already here.
The community used to be really active. Several bands came out of it, but some never actually met up as they could easily make money together across the internet. I have met several of them in the UK, Germany and Australia. I also stay in touch with others. Together we made albums and I learned a lot from them. One of them even made me a guitar!
It's great to finally have the show back. I have less time for podcasts now, but this one will always have priority. Check it out if you like guitars at all.
