Winter time is hard for many of us. I don't know how it is where you live, but here in the central Midwest of the US, during winter we have mostly grey sky days and as of the last few days, snow! Now it's fair to say that snow doesn't really happen in Missouri like it does in the more northern Midwest states, but every now and then....we get a really dumping. This very thing happened this past weekend.
We awoke Saturday morning with a healthy 15 inches of snow with more coming. What came out of that was a white blanketed ground, snow lined trees, and bright grey skies.
It is quite easy to see how a splash of color, when it shows up, will catch your eye. This is exactly what happened when this gentleman showed himself this morning in our tree in the front yard. He was accompanied by his female companion, of which didn't present herself as well for photo. I was pleased to catch him in picture, and the bright splash of red of this cardinal was a welcome break in whites and grays.
