It's a mater of being REALLY REALLY ready. And it's a matter of choosing life - choosing what we really WANT vs feeling like we're keeping something from ourselves that we want.
I remember going through the real THICK of the withdrawals. It's one day when it's at its absolute peak. I called my friend who had already quit, and what she said really helped me: "Can you just have the experience of the withdrawals without labeling it as a bad experience? Can you just have the experience and say, 'oh, so this is what it's like to go through cigarette withdrawal?'" I always think about that.
