The English haiku form is: a short (3-4 syllable) verse, a longer (5-6 syllable) verse, another short (3-4 syllable) verse.
The december winds “haiku” seems to not follow this at all and instead uses a 4-3-4 format. And I’ve always thought that 5-7-5 was by far the most common format for haiku in English. Am I missing something?
