During All Hallows' Eve, on 31st October, we made some pumpkin pie, and yes, we made a jack-o-lantern.
Then I took a couple of photos of our cornsnake Kiemis.
In Finland, Halloween isn't really a thing, although it is really heavily marketed to be one. The holiday that we have around the same time is called "pyhäinpäivä" (originally "pyhäinmiestenpäivä"), and it is a Christian holiday commemorating saints and martyrs and the dead. (I guess it's pretty much the same as in many other Christian countries.) In the case of Finland, we don't celebrate it on November 1st, but on the Saturday between Oct 31st and Nov. 6th which happens to be today.
The pagan holiday before the All Saints' holiday became a thing in Finland, that was originally celebrated around the same time, was called "kekri". Kekri was the harvest festival celebrated after the harvesting was done. We might have had a livestock guardian deity called "Kekri" too, but there is almost too little information surviving on that fact.
