And a little bird told me it was his birthday today

 I know he wouldn't want some noise. I know he would wish it to quietly pass unnoticed. I know he wouldn't want anyone to bother on his account. 

And why not?  If you have invested so much into the business of putting smiles on faces, dishing out kindness in a world where it has become a lost art, in times when it is desperately needed but desperately lacking and generally depleted. Then, there can never be a hiding place.
