This is some of the best news I have heard in a long time. The lines for the Honolulu Airport, especially the Interisland Terminal, are crazy long at times. For example, we take the first flight out which leaves at 5am. One of the crazy things is that TSA opens at 4:15am and by that time the lines are out the door.
Luckily we can do the the Frequent Flyer line which is short than the main line otherwise it woulb be a battle to get onto the flight in time if there is any delay in the line.
One of the craziest things is that they have a human repeat the same thing over and over reminding people what they have to take out of their bags. I don't see why they do not just have a recording and let that person focus on getting people through the line.
The other crazy things is the number of TSA agents I see just standing around. What they need to do is add more lines and balance the agents to focus on processing people.
