I came across an article on the internet that melted my heart as I've personally suffered through acute depression during a period of work and needed an excuse to be able to go see a psychologist (I will write about that some time soon). We all know that it's good we should take a mental health day from time to time, but how many of us are brave enough to take one—and let our coworkers and boss know that mental health issues may be the reason for being out of office?
This is obviously one of the coolest CEO's there could ever be. A CEO that takes their employees' mental health check-ups at heart. I decided to share this with fellow Steemians to know what you think. Have you ever had any mental health issues. Would you be able to communicate the true purpose of your sick leave to your boss?
The work sector is usually a world of stress, depression and other mental health related issues. Many are faced in conundrums of how to communicate mental health issues in the workplace especially to your boss. It is about time we cut through the stigma and save a generation.
~Below is the email and reply an employee sent to a CEO~
Madalyn posted this screen shot on twitter and got an outpouring of love. Ben Congleton, the CEO who replied 'in style', was so astonished by the outpouring of great comment and support that he wrote about it on Medium.
Stuff like this gives me hope in humanity!
