Although the common belief that sleeping 8 hours is good for optimal health, a 6-year study showed that more than 1 million adults aged 30 to 102 have shown that people who sleep only 6 to 7 hours per night have a mortality rate lower. While individuals who sleep 8 hours per day or more, also less than 4 hours per night have a higher mortality rate than the 6 to 7 hours.
Here are other problems that may occur for people who sleep more than 9 hours every night.
1.Depression
Depression is often associated with either little sleep or too much sleep. Most people who are depressed have a risk of insomnia (sleeplessness) or sleeping too little, but 15% of people who are depressed also have a risk of sleeping too much. This may be a lack of life satisfaction.
2.Medical Condition
It turns out that excess sleep can also have a higher likelihood of medical conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and headaches. People who sleep too much during the day and interrupt their nighttime sleep will sometimes find themselves having headaches in the morning.
3.More Sleep in Weather or Winter
Also known as Seasonal Affectiveness Disorder (SAD), which occurs in winter. Shown with symptoms of depression, lack of energy, no sexual attraction, increased sleep. This is similar to "hibernation", but in reality there is no need to sleep more in winter.
Fortunately, SAD can be cured with light exercise, especially for those of us who do not have winter, this possibility is very low or even impossible to say.
4.Energy Shortage
Many studies show that sleeping too much can also lead to a lack of energy. Have you ever felt tired after sleeping about 10 hours instead of sleeping just 7 hours? Your body seeks to replace quality with quantity, that is, poor sleep quality is replaced by length of sleep.
5.Disadvantages of Sports
Regular exercise increases your body temperature, allowing your body temperature to drop faster at night, which also increases the quality of sleep. Lack of movement can increase sleep time.
6.The Wrong Diet
Eating and sleeping habits go hand in hand. The wrong diet can actually exacerbate your energy and make you tired, which also means more sleep. Do not eat unhealthy foods before going to bed because it certainly requires more metabolism directed to your digestive system, than your brain while sleeping. This makes for poor quality.
SO WHAT IS SLEEPING TOO BADLY BAD FOR HEALTH
Unfortunately, the above issues are based solely on statistics and studies, none of which actually shows to say that sleeping too much is really bad for health. Maybe if you are healthy and tikda has any medical condition, then sleep longer will not have a negative impact on you.
But you also need to know that statistics happen based on real data and the likelihood of it happening again is high enough. So is sleeping too much really bad? The bad is probably the cause of why you can sleep too much.
