Meal Planning & Prepping
You can't control everything in life but you can control what you eat. Make it a habit to plan your meals and allocate a day to meal prep to avoid getting caught up on a busy day and putting yourself in a position to choose unhealthy food because it's the easy choice.
Read The Labels
Make sure to know what you are putting in your body, learn to make it a habit to read the food labels and avoid the products filled with artificial preservatives. If you don't know an ingredient, educate yourself by googling it. Also just because something says it's organic, doesn't mean it is good for you, check out the label and make sure you know what you are putting in your body.
Macronutrient
If you are looking to get lean or stay lean, focus on counting your macronutrients rather than counting calories. Fuel your body with protein, healthy fats and carbohydrates. Learn more about How To Count Your Macros
Don't Skip Breakfast
Skipping breakfast can cause you to eat larger, higher calorie meals later in the day and you miss out on the early morning energy boost breakfast provides. I personally start my morning with a shot of espresso, hit the gym, and then have my my breakfast post-workout.
Make Cooking Easy
The best piece of cooking equipment I own is my slow cooker! (some of you may call it a crockpot) It has made it very easy for me to cook clean and tasty meals with very little prep time. I highly recommend purchasing one, there are so many recipes online that are very is easy to follow, making it perfect for beginners.
