Life can be overwhelming at times. Lately I feel like I’m trying to juggle so much and I’m failing. Everything is smashing to the ground and I’m near a breaking point. I need to learn how to cope better. I feel as though I’m a decent problem solver but sometimes there is just that point where I don’t see an answer or a solution. It’s in these moments that I have to take a time out from life.
Sometimes I’ll just go see a movie by myself. Sometimes I’ll go grab a bite. Sometimes I’ll write. Some days I get a massage. Today I decided to get a massage.
I’m a member of Hand & Stone which is a chain and they are lovely. Tranquil music, great aromas, and a soft touch. It makes me fall asleep and I catch myself snoring often. They usually book up quickly so some days I just go to the mall to the massage place there. That’s where I am at this moment.
This place does an absolutely killer foot massage. They have insanely strong hands and I always feel lighter on my feet after I leave. Their regular massages are also fantastic. While I enjoy the tranquil relaxing massages of H&S, I come here to hurt a bit. These folks work deep into me which is what I need most of the time.
Getting massages is also one of the only places that my mind fully relaxes and kinda...turns off. Doing what I’m doing right now is basically defeating the purpose a bit as I usually like just tuning out a bit. I feel it’s important as it allows me to recharge to a smalll degree. I just wanted to share this moment with some of you as I’m sure I’m not the only one here who feels lost and needs help at times.
I feel it’s important to sometimes take a moment out for myself. Maybe it’s selfish, but I find I need these moments to help keep me running properly. My mental and physical well being both depend on it.
