Dialysis is a way for modern medical technology to bridge, extend, save the lives of patients with a non-working kidney because the kidneys help cleanse the blood of almost every living things and the dialysis technique procedure mimics this sole process.
But the dialysis cannot mimic other kidney functions like producing the much needed erythropoietin hormone for our bone marrow to produce red blood cells. That is why most patients requires regular blood transfusions and the injection of an artificial erythropoietin hormone so that they would not get so anemic and die and suffer its complications.
Of course our kidneys regulate water balance and eliminates extra water through urination. So if we do not have any working kidneys anymore we do not urinate and the water accumulates thereby causing edema or worst we could get a fluid-filled lung which can lead to death as well.
But for dialysis patients we needed much dialysis for the sake of cleaning our blood and warding much complications like fluid imbalances in the body. Now I realized this, that if I will get a thrice a week dialysis i will never worry about diet restrictions and it includes fluid intake. it will make me liberal in my diet with some control with the foods that I take will be in consideration with it.
So I am happy thinking about my diet at least my misery would be lessened especially my aftertaste complaint and hopefully my breathlessness issues. God help me, it is still an expensive affair but it is of an utmost importance health-wise.
