Sleep Hygiene
New research, is showing that relationship breakdowns and conflicts, are often influenced by poor sleep.
A solution can be found through a practise of Sleep Hygiene. To make a peaceful, tidy environment which has been cleared of technology. Leave your phone in another room, and your laptop too. Prepare an alarm to remind you to go to bed, around 9 hours before wake up is scheduled, and spend the hour before bed in a practised routine.
Good habits are developed through practising, and good habits may include some of the following.
Try reading in bed for a while before sleep is scheduled, allow 8 hours for sleeping, don't watch TV until the last minute and try some gentle stretching and mindfulness exercise in the last hour too.
Some people have found a glass of milk an hour before bed is useful, and the science backs this up as the chemical Tryptophan is stimulated.
Avoid drugs and alcohol and if you use these things, try to be very moderate. Some people swear that sex helps them sleep, and it is also backed by science, so give it a go.
If your tired, then it is a good idea to go to bed, and don't press on with social networking and emails. Try playing a little soft music as part of your presleep routine.
The more you sleep, the more you will appreciate and value your sleep, it is good habit well worth stimulating with practise, so you will improve over time.
