Presentation of a case-
(Supposing both knee and elbow joints)
*Both knee and elbow joints are swollen.
*Skin is red and shiny.
Local temperature is raised and the joints are very tender.
*There is restricted movement of the joins(because of pain)
MY DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSES ARE :
*RF
*Reactive arthritis.
*Rheumatoid Arthritis
*Septic Arthritis
*Traumatic arthropathy.
what is the likely diagnosis in this case??
Ans:Rheumatic fever.
what are the presenting complaints of a patient with RF??
Ans:RF usually occurs in children and young adults.
Features are::
- Migrating, nondeforming polyathritis involving the large joints (knee,ankle,and elbow) and wrists with fever,may be continuous, high grade is the presenting feature in 75% cases.
*palpitation and chest pain.
*Skin rash,subcutaneous nodules.
*Involuntary movement
*Malaise, weakness and fatigue.
