a few days ago where I worked at a government hospital in my area of north aceh there was a patient with a medical diagnosis of bartholin cyst.to be honest I just first heard of the medical diagnosis, on this occasion I will try to share information to all friends about the diagnosis of the disease.
What is Bartholin Cyst?
The Bartholin cyst is an abnormal lump on both sides of the birth canal wall (miss v) which has a fluid secreting function to help lubricate.The cyst is formed when the channel coming out of the bartholin gland becomes blocked, consequently the resulting liquid will accumulate in the gland to form a cavity filled with fluid (cyst).This condition can be accompanied by bacterial infection in the cyst,if this happens the liquid will turn into pus arise inflammation and of course will arise pain and fever.This condition furthermore we call as abscess bartholin.
Signs and Symptoms of Bartholin Cysts
This cyst is basically caused by several factors,one of which is inflammation or trauma that eventually leads to cystic dilation of ducus.Actually this type of cyst is not dangerous and does not require special handling.The emergence of a sense of heat,itching, and how long the signs and symptoms of bartholin cyst occurs when the occurrence and when the emergence.
If the cyst is infected it will develop into a bartholin abscess with symptoms as follows:
- The presence of swelling of the vulva for 2-4 days
- Pain while walking, sitting and having sex
- In some cases there is no fever, unless the infection is transmitted through intercourse
- Usually there is a secret in the vagina

Treatment of Bartholin Cysts

- Warm bath

The doctor will give antibiotics if the cyst is infected or if the test shows that you have a sexually transmitted infection. - Marsupialization
If the cyst recurs again, then a procedure called marsupialisasi.Kokter will make the seams on each side of the drainage incision to keep the incision open permanently with a size less than 1/4-inch (about 6 millimeters) .Then the catheter is inserted to facilitate drainage for several days after the procedure and help prevent recurrence.
