The steam doesn't stay 100°C or 60°C degrees when it enters your lungs, it will cool down. The problem is that breathing it in isn't nearly enough to destroy the virus. The steam you speak will not affect the virus because it can't stay hot enough.

If you want to kill the virus, you would need to pour above 60 degree water straight into your lungs for it to have any effect on the virus.
