Health Benefits of Cold Showers:

Cold showers can feel unpleasant, uncomfortable and are often a bitter result of having no warm water ( room mates , you've got to hate them). However next time you dismiss an icy shower for one at a warm temperature you may prefer these health benefits may just change your mind:
Cold showers increase alertness- the change in temperature causes us to breathe more deeply in order to keep the body warm. With the increase in oxygen intake the heart rate will also increase. A rush of blood is released all through the body , giving an energy boost for the rest of a day.
Weight loss can be stimulated - cold showers can promote the activity of brown fats ( The type of fat which is necessary for keeping our bodies warm). Because of this people have lost up to nine pounds in a year with regular cold showers with the lessening of white fats (fats we obtain through eating excess calories).
3)Refines hair and skin- Cold water has the power to tighten our cuticles and pores. It also doesn't dry out our skin like hot water. Skin defections like spots can also be prevented by the cold water sealing pores in the skin.
- Circulation and immunity can be improved- The cold water can help combat some skin and heart issues by encouraging the circulation of blood around our organs. Due to the more efficient pumping of blood our general health can be boosted with improvements like lowering blood pressure, improving our immune system and clearing blocked arteries.
5)Stress can be eased- Due to the tolerance developed with the sudden change in temperature without giving time for your body to climatize, our bodies can develop hardening (which in turn increases tolerance to stress).
6)Recovery to muscle soreness can be sped up- Similar to athletes taking ice baths it is beneficial for recoveries to incorporate cold showers as evidence shows inflammation is best reduced in such temperatures.
7)Acts as a "pick me up"- The cold water can boost a positive mood. This is due to the intense effect of the icy temperature on the cold receptors in our skin (which the send the electrical impulses to our brain)
