Are not only...
Becoming boring, they are completely irrelevant.
With so much occurring in the world, the self-ie is totally self indulgent and so out of touch, it has become laughable and or ridiculous.
People half become so wrapped up in their personal world, they miss or hide from Vital processes, controls and loss of freedoms. They have been programmed by higher malevolent entities into their individual prison cells of mental, spiritual and therefore physical interactions.
"Generation Me"
In fact one can replace the name "Milenials", with the adage of "Generation Me".
If they could only take their minds off themselves, or using their incredible technological devices more toward outward creativity and expression, society would benefit greatly.
Steemit
Is an answer to this dilemma as the portable devices can portray thoughts, emotions, experiences far beyond seeing the 4000th picture of the individual at night, in the morning, at work, play or intimate times... as opposed to written thoughts, ideas and goals.
I don't care
What you are eating, drinking or wearing. I don't care what friend you are with, the stupid pursed lips in a utterly vain attempt at even more vanity and desperation to say... "PICK ME, PICK ME" (Donkey).
The world is rapidly changing, actually turning upside down, (complete with polar shifts)... and all some think about is their superficial and stupid face. Sorry Rant Almost Over.
Mental Health Issues
Originally this was only a well known teen obsession that some experts are confirming may lead to mental health issues.... Duh, when is self obsession ever been a healthy mindset?
Todays Psychologists have found this rise in egotistic, insecure, self-objectification, addiction, has damaged people's friendships, their body dysmorphic issues and depression that coincides with this obsession with selfies. They may seem benign and blameless in moderation, but often lead to social media narcissism and other mental health issues.
The new psychological belief is that when an individual receives any positive comment on their selfies, it enhances self-image. However, the more egregious affects documented from an obsessive need for approval becomes a strong addiction. This social media addiction is making us more concerned with our outward appearance. There are a growing number of People now even undergoing surgeries in a quest of a perfect selfie.
Selfitis
The American Psychiatric Association has recently confirmed that this obsession for taking selfies is a actual psychological disorder and gave the condition a name: “selfitis”.
This disorder may also lead into a chain of reactions creating an even more complex addiction disorder many now call "Selfie addiction disorder".
Wow, just wow.
