Me and my husband lived in Bali in 2016...
Because of high humidity (especialy during rainy season in October till March), the risk of catching dengue fever is high. My poor husband caught it that year and it knocked him out completely for a week. At his worst his thrombocytes level was 68 (normal thrombocytes is 150). So far, there has been no specific medicine formulated for this disease. The only option is to keep his body hydrated at all times by IV injection, and he refused getting it.
So we googled alternative medications to increase thrombocytes level...
Guava, papaya leaf and kurma honey are some on the list, with papaya leaf the top option. We tried it. The day after, his thrombocytes level went up to 95. That's a 50% increase in a day! Soon after that he was almost back to his normal self. Not only has it proven to be effective in fighting the symptoms of dengue fever but also in curing it. Apart from this, it also has anti-cancer properties as well as other health benefits.
I wish I could plant a Papaya tree here in Vancouver…
HOW TO MAKE
Ingredients
2 fresh and thoroughly washed papaya leaf
1/2 cup of filtered water
Instruction
Mix them well in a blender, then strain it with a cheesecloth. If you don’t mind the pulp, feel free to drink it as it is.
Note: In the link above, the instruction is to boil the papaya leave. This works as well.
